Bob Palmeter, president of nonprofit Sound In Spirit, and his wife Donna were both born and raised in southeast Iowa. Both came to know the Lord in the mid 80s, and have been fully devoted to Christ and His calling for them to serve in radio and children's ministry. Bob has managed Christian radio stations in the Midwest.
Sound in Spirit and the Palmeters experienced the miraculous hand of God with every step taken to launch LIFT FM, Ottumwa's first Christian radio station. A huge vision with little money are not a recipe for success - unless God gets involved! And He has mightily! A construction permit, equipment, and the time to build were provided at a fraction of what it usually takes for a startup station. Those at LIFT FM are trusting God for ongoing funds, and know they will see the faithfulness of God's people to appreciate and financially support God's work thru this local missions effort.
Bob brings you the weekday "Morning Lift" and also manages LIFT FM. Bob has been in radio nearly 40 years and is very familiar with the area, having previously worked in Iowa at radio stations in Oskaloosa and Albia. Like Bob says, "Attempt something so big that, unless God intervenes, it's bound to fail!"
Bob's Life Verse: Philippians 2:13 "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
"Donna is the host of our Saturday morning "Kidz Lift" program! She has a heart to lift up kidz to have a closer walk with Jesus. Donna has been ministering to children for over 25 years. She is a graduate of Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma and completed her Biblical studies through Nazarene Bible College. She is an ordained minister and serves as the Children's Pastor of the Lighthouse Church of the Nazarene in Moravia, Iowa. And somehow Donna makes time to volunteer at LIFT FM a couple mornings a week!
Donna's Life Verse: 1 John 3:18 "Let us not love with words or speech, but with action and in truth."
Born and raised in Ottumwa, I also have the honor and privilege to be the secretary at Point of Grace Church. Together with my husband, Tally, we have raised 6 kids and take care of my grandfather, who has dementia. We have also been blessed with 2 grandchildren, so far... That being said, there are so many things that I can share about myself, but in this moment, the only thing that matters is my love for Jesus. It is a fierce love that is daily changing my life. I want to live for Him, and my desire is for people to see and experience Jesus when they are with me. God has given me a spirit of praise and there is always a song in my heart (which you will probably hear because I walk around singing!) I want to fight the good fight, finish the race, and remain faithful (2 Timothy 4:7) so that someday I can be surrounded by the glory of Jesus Christ and hear "well done, good and faithful servant!"
Meagan's Life Verse: Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thougts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life."
